Sunny Wieler developed a passion for art and the outdoors from a young age. After obtaining his degree in Fine Art & Sculpture in the Crawford College of Art & Design in Cork in 2002, Sunny followed his love for the outdoors as a landscape gardener where he developed his love for plants and also discovered his passion for stone. Over the next few years Sunny worked for a number of landscaping companies including a year working in New Zealand. In 2005 Sunny set up his own company ‘Stone Art’. 2011 Sunny obtained a diploma in landscape design through Limperts Academy in Dublin. Over the years Sunny has had the opportunity to create unique and artistic installations that merge art and landscape together through the medium of stone. Much of Sunny’s work is influenced by his love for Irish landscape and folklore as well as his passion for stonework and its importance in the Irish landscape. Sunny now works from his studio near Waterford city, but also works on projects right across the country as well as abroad.
